The schedule for Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner at the Miami Open presented by Itau has been announced by tournament organizers.
Top seed Alcaraz, placed in the top half of the draw, is set to start his campaign on Friday evening against either Joao Fonseca or Fabian Marozsan, who will compete on Thursday. Alcaraz has never faced 19-year-old Brazilian Fonseca, who was defeated by Sinner in the fourth round at Indian Wells.
Alcaraz, the youngest Miami champion in tournament history, won the title at 18 in 2022. Currently ranked No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings, he is aiming for his third title of the season after victories at the Australian Open and in Doha. His perfect start to the season ended last week in Indian Wells, where Daniil Medvedev stopped him in the semi-finals.
Second seed Sinner will begin his tournament on Saturday against Damir Dzumhur or qualifier Ignacio Buse. The 24-year-old holds a 19-3 record in Miami and has reached the final in three of his four appearances, claiming the trophy in 2024.
Sinner also made history last week at Indian Wells, becoming the third — and youngest — man to win all six ATP Masters 1000 hard-court events, joining Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.
The hard-court tournament in Miami officially begins on Wednesday.
