Chelsea 0-3 Paris Saint-Germain (2-8 agg): Reigning champions march into Champions League quarters

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a commanding 3-0 win over Chelsea in the second leg, sealing an 8-2 aggregate triumph.

Carrying a 5-2 lead from the first leg, PSG wasted no time extending their advantage and ending Chelsea’s hopes of a dramatic comeback.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who had made a decisive impact in the first leg, came off the bench to create and score once again, proving a constant threat to the Blues.

Chelsea were exposed early when Matvey Safonov launched a long ball, allowing Kvaratskhelia to hold off Mamadou Sarr and slot past Robert Sanchez just six minutes in.

Eight minutes later, PSG doubled their lead after winning possession in midfield; Achraf Hakimi set up Bradley Barcola, who fired a stunning volley into the top-left corner.

Kvaratskhelia had a second goal ruled out for offside before the half-hour mark, giving Chelsea a brief reprieve.

The Blues had opportunities, but Safonov was alert, making key saves to deny Joao Pedro, Moises Caicedo, and Alejandro Garnacho.

Senny Mayulu sealed the victory in the 62nd minute. After Hakimi miscontrolled Vitinha’s cross, Mayulu struck decisively between two defenders to beat a helpless Sanchez.
